Nee der Gedankengang ist schon richtig.
Wenn das Ventil geschlossen ist kann das Wasser nur durch ein kleines Loch im Thermostat in den Kühler.
Dann würde der Lüfter nicht anspringen bevor die Nadel den roten Bereich erreicht hat.

Das sensible Temperaturverhalten würde ich jetzt eher auf das Sommerwetter schieben.
